Where it all started

In 2012 when I turned 50 I decided to get fit and start running and my journey was so much fun. Amazing races, awesome people, but unfortunately, untimely injuries, but I would not change anything. I guess the highest point was my first Marathon back in May 2013 when I ran it in 3:27 and I was delighted. This brings me to my lowest point which was in July 2013 when I fell on a race and hurt my ankle which is still not 100%  almost 4 years later, but as the say “every cloud has a silver lining” well, in this case, it was a black lining made of beautiful sleek Carbon Fibre 🙂

In November 2014 I started cycling for the first time in a lot of years and just like with running it feels very natural and in fact, I love it more than I ever did running. I Rode 7300 miles in my first year and in January 2016 I rode 1400 miles so it’s fair to say I am hooked. My total mileage for 2016 was 12,200.

During my 2 years cycling, I joined 2 local cycling clubs. The first was full of promise and to start with it felt good but it soon became apparent it was not for me. Before that, I spent a good few months building up the social side of this club and I am very proud to say it was a huge success.

The second club was much the same, just not the friendly welcoming environment it should have been.

So, after lots of miles chatting to my friends JPCC was born. Let’s see where this takes us 🙂
